But many women have a difficult time harnessing the power of what relationship expert, Kara Oh, refers to in her highly recommended guide, Men Made Easy, as feminine grace. And even if you do realize how to use your own femininity to attract men, not understanding what men want and how they think will leave you utterly confused and feeling hopeless that you’ll never find “the one”.
Significantly more men approached when the woman smiled (22% vs. 4%). According to Gueguen (2008), this is due to the fact that men are looking for a woman to show interest in them as a clear signal to approach. The women who make eye contact AND smile give such a clear signal. So, if you want a man to notice you and approach, make eye contact and smile!
If a guy feels good while he’s around you, he’s going to be interested in you! He’s going to want to spend more time with you, and he’s going to show more enthusiasm for hanging out, getting closer and getting to know you better.
In other words, saying you value physical attractiveness doesn’t make you more likely to feel a spark with those you consider physically attractive, the researchers report in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. “When men say they care about physical attractiveness more than women, what that should mean is that attractiveness buys you more romantic desirability if you’re a woman than if you’re a man,” says Eastwick, now at Texas A&M University. “Our study showed that in fact that wasn’t the case.”
I’ll preface this by saying the few dating/relationship books I’ve flipped through or read descriptions for often come across as very condescending to women. This is especially true if meant to unveil the “male mind” and give it to us straight – the “ugly truth” type of stuff. They make women feel bad for being women. You come away from just one little paragraph feeling like men essentially don’t like women (beyond the physical). We’re told we need to be more feminine, but also think like men, less clingy, but not too independent – etc. Here is a book which focuses less on how women need to change their nature, needs, desires, etc, as if we’re hopelessly incompatible with men by nature, and instead it focuses on social skills & positive thinking modes for attracting & developing relationships with compatible men we actually like & who are worth OUR time & energy.
For those who would like to woo a woman… It seems that the ladies are a bit more complicated. Fortunately, they are not impossible! Research by Renninger, Wade, and Grammer (2004) sheds some light on what attracts the attention of women. These researchers too went to the bar. They observed the body language and behavior of men who made successful contact with women, versus those who did not.
For now, allow your genes and natural history to be the best wing man in the business. We definitely don’t need to be slaves to our primate history, but it sure doesn’t hurt to be aware of it and use it gain influence with the opposite sex.
Of course, you are more than just looks, but if you want to capitalize on a 20-million-year-old process that’s embedded in our DNA to attract men into your territory, then let’s study the art of body language and see if it affects the amount of men you attract into your circle. After all, 85 percent of all communication comes through the body.
It’s because it’s a difficult process if your social circle is really thin. A guy has to face rejection. He has to get comfortable with it. When a guy is 100% comfortable, and has no hesitation about the concept of rejection — he has no problem with the singles/dating scene. Of course, getting to that point is not easy.
What women think men want from them often causes women to have resentment and anger toward men, and feel hopeless about ever developing a wonderful, warm, romantic partnership. What men think women want from them often causes them much of the same feelings and frustration. The sad part is that it does not have to be this way, if only we would realize that both men and women are human beings first and pretty much want the same thing. But, you don’t have to take my word for this. I asked a number of men and women who are actively involved in personal growth and development what they want from a partner in order to build a great relationship. You will find their answers unexpected.
The media might lead you to believe that getting a man is all about the physical: what you wear, how you do your makeup, the right push-up bra, the right scent. These things will certainly help you attract a man, but will do little to keep him interested and invested.
Not really knowing oneself is most of the time the common mistake of women. we tend to be someone we’re really not because we want to attract some guy. in the end, we don’t get what we want because we were too busy being somebody else in the process.
People are on prescription drugs too much, yes. And many people will get an infection of some sort stemming from sex, yes. Although the latter is blown out of proportion, as pretty much anyone who doesn’t live a traditional Mormon lifestyle is going to stumble upon a benign version of HPV, and many will get a general UTI. You can look at it through the “scare lens”, sure.
Yes. I actually just wrote this cliché. I can’t believe I am even writing it but it’s such a concise way to describe one of the most attractive things to most men: a woman who is presentable and one way when she’s interacting with the world but behind closed doors brings out an entirely different wild, sexual side.
Maybe you feel like you don’t know why men are deeply attracted to some women and not to others. It could feel like you’re flying blind, and you don’t know how to get the guy you want interested in you.
The solution – stop the chase. Realize that just because something is hard to get, doesn’t mean it is worth the effort. No one is worth running after. It is better to find someone who will meet you in the middle.
Men don’t care about perfection. It’s a binary scale. Attractive or not. Given that our species currently still exists and continues to grow, you should be able to surmise that “attractive” is very attainable. There is never any reason to starve yourself.
Great article! I totally agree. The cuteness of a woman can tame a man’s heart and lust to find other women out there, but of course beeing sexy too. To those women that disagree with this article, stop beeing so dominant. Men are physically and etc. stronger than us women, they dont need a tougher spouse to live with, let them be the men and u be the woman a.k.a queen/princess. Are how is that? Politeness, funny, shyness, cuteness, sexyness. If u want to be the stronger spouse in the relationship, they will surely not stay long with u since it is in their nature that they are the ones who should feel masculine and strong and have responsibilities to protect and love his gf/wife. They want to feel that they are wanted, so let them lead and u as woman relax and enjoy. (Not talking bout the cooking and cleanin though lol)
Men are starved for appreciation. No man is going to come right out and say it, so you’re really going to have to take my word for it. In relationships, women mostly want to feel loved and understood. What men want most is to be appreciated and respected. Rather than focusing on what your man isn’t doing, try to hone in on the good things he is doing (there have to be some).
Be a woman who makes him feel great about himself and makes him feel needed. Men love the girls who play to their ego and make them feel like Superman. If a guy doesn’t understand how he is needed in your life, he won’t fall in love with you.
When someone tells you that the best way to attract someone is by being yourself, well, they’re not entirely right. All of us change all the time. And not every change that we see in ourselves may be in the right direction.
It’s a fact of life: men and human beings are visual creatures. There are certain things a man is going to respond to whether he wants to or not. I’m only giving you this information to help you… not to offend or be rude, so please
So we males articulate our desires with the precision of a leaf-blower. That may not help our Match.com profiles, but it does support the legend of male complexity. Sociologist Rebecca Plante of Ithaca College says it’s a massive oversimplification to think that a man’s sexual desire is “as plain as the erection in his pants.” Plante has been leading part of a national, multi-campus, quantitative, and qualitative study of some 14,000 college students, organized by sociologist Paula England at Stanford, on the culture of hooking up. What Plante has found so far defies all simple expectations: While some guys do view sex and desire as one and the same, many others—even those in the early stages of a casual engagement—want someone they know and trust on a deeper level.
I completely freaking agree. I’m so sick of that bullshit that ‘oh, Asian girls are so cute’, ‘every guy wants an Asian girl’, ‘all. They aren’t all cute. Some Asian b*tch kept trying to subtly get at my boyfriend, and he didn’t see what she was doing, but I did. She was fat and ugly as hell.
Learning how to be attractive to men doesn’t always involve rejection, women seem to believe that men will somehow reject them if they speak to them or attempt to ignite some attraction. But that couldn’t be further from the truth, men are more shocked that anything else – so use this to your advantage and start chatting to the guys you like, who knows you could find love in the strangest places.

The book is described as providing dating tips that still let *you* be *you*, and don’t require any gamesmanship to meet and keep a quality man; neither claim turns out to be true. In a nutshell, the book’s how-to can be boiled down to this:
Love yourself. Before you attract a man, you need to love yourself and want the best for yourself. This may seem like common sense, but it’s an important aspect that many people forget before dating. If you can’t see your self-worth, then others will have a hard time seeing it as well.
Some women are completely unafraid to take control and others like to be dominated. The point is to find what you feel comfortable with and realize that some men will be extremely attracted to you and these particular aspects of your personality.
Been married over 9 yrs, noticed changes in spouses behavior and work routine. He now commutes 45 min to another work location 2 days/week, work later, and communicates less with me while at work, ie 1 call/ a day after 2:00pm. Noticed in 1 month several withdrawal of ATMs back to back, $600, $400, $200 on days commuting, as well as, excessive spending on the same day of withdrawals.

What do men want in a woman? It may seem like a loaded question, but really the answer is quite simple. While every guy has his own preferences when it comes to the physical–some like blondes, some like brunettes; some like petite, some like curvy–there are several fundamental qualities that all men crave in a woman.
Many women treat men in ways that diminish their egos, making them feel inadequate. Men would rather have more praise, more acknowledgment of what they do right, and more acknowledgment that they are great guys who are loved and appreciated. Women think men do not need them, and do not value their opinion, their support, or their praise. Women also think men do not care about many things that are important to women, which is why they criticize. Criticism can be a way to verbalize resentment.
To some degree, notions of male simplicity persist, despite growing evidence to the contrary, due to the very nature of masculinity. A recent series of experiments described in Current Directions in Psychological Science conclude that manhood is both elusive and tenuous. In one experiment, test participants associated the loss of manhood with social, impermanent things, like letting someone down, as opposed to physical things, like growing weak with age. So manhood must be earned by demonstration, and it must be demonstrated repeatedly, until we’ve shielded our vulnerability behind a haze of one-dimensional sexuality.

Be active, social, and attend events that you enjoy. Just because you’re a gay man, doesn’t mean that you need to go to exclusively gay events or establishments to meet a mate. Remember to keep a positive frame of mind, and get out and be social in the world. Take a community class or join a gym if you are having trouble interacting with other people. Take opportunities to attend social events with groups of friends and be kind and welcoming to people that you meet. A genuine and positive attitude will naturally attract other men to you. When you find someone you’re attracted to, put in additional effort to spend more time with them.
Need your advice on a guy I meet about 3 weeks ago and he is pulling away. We had a rocky start when we met and I had 2 great dates but then I did not text him for 2 days as I did not want to chase him and seem needy. Long story short I texted him and he flipped. He said I did not make him feel wanted and I was saying words were not backed up by actions. So after much arguing I apologized to him and showed up with a card at his house as a surprise to back up my words with action. Again he flipped and said I was way too much to deal with. So damned if you do damned if you don’t. I texted him a day after that but he did not acknowledge my feelings at all so I told him I was hurt. He flipped out again and said I had no idea what was going on his life. Anyways another argument that ended in him apologizing. This was on Friday night and the weekend went by and never asked me out nor have I heard from him in 3 days since the argument. Should I just leave this and move on??? or should I wait it out? Should send him a text? I just feel like he is going to what he wants anyways no matter what I do its wrong?? HELP me Eric.
As I was single my neighbor who is 3 yrs younger than me and much more mature than my last with a good steady job offered to help mow my yard and we became friends. We just were so busy with work and our pass life we never took time to notice each other. Friendship grew stronger and turned into a relationship. Yes things he does might bug me like OCD but hey at least my house is clean and kids are learning from it! I can live with his unique ways about him. Now we are engaged to be married!
Some women are more innocent and cutesy, others more seductive and intense, others a combination of all these… some are more outgoing and expressive, others are more shy and want a man to take control.
