A few years ago, Swami and an international group of psychologists led by Martin Tovée of Newcastle University surveyed the female body preferences of men (and women) in the United Kingdom and among the Zulu of South Africa. Participants flipped through a photo booklet of real but blurry-faced women wearing tight gray leotards and rated each one. The Britons gave high marks to slender curves, while the Zulu enjoyed heavier bodies. Then Zulu migrants living in Britain had their turn with the booklets—and chose bodies right in between.
Treatment: The most important. How you treat people around you, your opinions and your behavior matter to them. Treating him respectfully and sweetly, if not flirting at the first conversation, makes a very good impression upon them. So if you like the guy, just don’t come into bitch-mode. Most probably he will run far and never come back. *damn those romcoms showing this shit*
“It was interesting to see that it wasn’t all men who were conflating love with sex—it was just the short-term-oriented men,” says Ackerman. “There are different kinds of men and they mean different kinds of things when they’re communicating love.”
If you wanted an Alaskan Salmon, throwing your fishing line into the Gulf of Mexico probably isn’t going to land you the desired prize. I’m not saying you won’t land a fish, you probably will. It’s just that it won’t be the fish you are looking for.
It’s easy to push a thought away and assume it’s wrong to be feminine or assume it’s a bad thing to change. But trust me, change is good. And change is inevitable. So you’re going to change whether you like it or not. And you have a choice to become a better you, or a worse you. [Read: 10 ways to achieve perfection in every step you take]
It does take time to find a partner. It also takes time to date them. So, if you are serious about finding someone, you should start building a bit of “dating time” into your schedule. When you are single, that time can be used to go to singles events, or more social hobbies, and meet new people. When you find someone to date, you can use that time to go out with them. Therefore, a big part of having a plan is “planning” the time out of your schedule for a love life.
I actually AM one of those cute and feminine girls. I ‘ve always been. Here’s some personal experiences for y’all: I once dated a guy with not so much testosterone (he was a skinny guy who was a complete NERD). It sucked, we had nothing to connect to, and he eventually dumped me for a more “dominant” girl. Now, I have a guy who is LOADED with testosterone (and he’s attractive), who likes me. Whenever I get cold, he offers his jacket. When I’m scared or upset, he does everything in his power to make me happy. People say he’s fallen quite hard for me, and I don’t blame him!
I’m sorry to hear your boyfriend cheated on you. I hope it’s a one time thing, that he’s truly sorry, and it never happens again. Unfortunately, people who cheat often cheat again. Of course there are plenty of exceptions to that rule and I hope your boyfriend is one of them.
[…] always curious to hear the opinions of guys when it comes to dating.  In my last guest blog post, I asked the amazing, hilarious and insightful dating bloggers Jack From Brooklyn, Fishy, The Urban […]
Hi.. Have bought the Attract any man deal and have received nothing. Have also sent email requesting help but haven’t received any reply.. Not sure if ive just been ripped off or there is something I’ve completely missed.
I had sex several times with a guy who is dating a girl. He says he doesn’t like me and that he is in love with his girlfriend, but that he won’t be able to control himself if we are alone in a room. Do I have a chance with him?
The meaning of the finding, Ackerman and colleagues report in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, turns on the commitment continuum. In subsequent tests, the researchers discovered that short-term guys felt a decrease in happiness when women declared “I love you” after sex. They’d said it first to score quickly, the finding suggests, and then, having scored, began to realize what they’d done.
I would also suggest developing an additional “social” personal hobby. Depending on your current interests, perhaps there are some aspects of your hobbies now that could be more social (e.g. interest groups, meet-ups, conventions, etc.). That can be a good way to practice being more social and expand your friendship network. Perhaps you will find love that way. Or perhaps, you will make a good friend who will introduce you to his sister, cousin, girlfriend’s friend, etc. Networking works just as well in love as it does in business. A good referral goes a long way too 🙂
Never leave, hang up, or sign off angry. One thing that happens a lot after the honeymoon period, is that you’ll notice little things your significant other does that bother you. Don’t call her out on them, it will cause a fight and you don’t want that.
The solution – looking for a good partner, not a perfect one. There are simply better and worse partners out there. Some are more fit for a relationship than others. There is not, however, a “perfect and unique fit” for each of us. The best that can be hoped for is finding a reasonably-compatible person, who will be willing to cooperate, and working with them to create a mutually-satisfying exchange. Yes, this is far less romantic…but it works!
Tip #4: Be easy to approach, hard to obtain. Although we’re torn on whether playing hard to get is a good thing or not—for the record, Adam says that men DO want a challenge when it comes to winning you over—it’s common sense that most men are terrified to make the move. So save the challenge for later, Adam advises: “Make it easy for them, open up your body, make eye contact and give them the clear signal that it’s cool to break the ice. One the ice is broken, now you can tease him, test him and make him work for it…just the way he likes it.”
It depends on the guy. If the guy is not interested in guys at all then it will not happen, but if the guy is in the closet, or just curious about how it would feel like sleeping with a guy, that’s when it would happen. Your best bet is to drop a hint or two and see how he reacts. If his reaction is negative at all, don’t pursue him any further.
How do I “They go out and meet people.” ? I can set aside an evening or 2 or a weekend afternoon. What strategies do you suggest for meeting women? I’ve been reading you for about a year now. I am totally sold on your whats and whys, and definitely want to hear more on your hows.
I agree with Django. All the women who attacked the OP with all your hate and bile are just… well… reluctant to accept the truth. The truth is, a truly feminine woman makes you hateful dykes feel threatened. It makes you “women” feel insecure because deep down even you know no man will ever fall for you and will obviously choose the sweeter more feminine girl.
And when men were asked to choose which of the film’s scenes they’d like to enact, 40 percent chose a romantic encounter (read: kissing or caressing without intercourse) while another 15 percent chose an intimate conversation. Only 20 percent chose a full-on sex scene. We may have 1,000 or so sexual fantasies, but only in some of them are we the cable guy who arrives just as you’re getting out of the shower. In others we’re Paul Rudd.
Often while walking the streets of Manhattan I adjust both the pace and position of my stride so as to follow close behind, but not illegally close behind, an attractive woman. I must stress here to my girlfriend and mother that I do not do this to admire the view. All right, so partly I do this to admire the view. But another part of me likes to observe the reactions we—we’re a caravan, now—receive from the menfolk we pass. To walk this way is to witness the spasmodic necks and detoured eyes and high-pitched whistled salutes and deep, perfumed inhalations and even, at times, affected indifference that together form the grand choreography of male desire. The performance is a haphazard one, and far creepier to the audience than to the actors, but it remains sincere as instinct.
Whatever you do, be natural. After all, you really do have to smooth that skirt or adjust the strap of your high heels. Now… can you picture him peering at you out of the corner of his eye, his eyebrow raised in awareness, curiosity… and desire? Of course you can. Now we’re getting somewhere. Whatever preening you do, don’t rush, and don’t look around to see who’s watching. Simply own your space, mind your own business, and smooth away. This is an excellent way to draw men toward you. You are creating anticipation “in the air” and causing him to be pulled toward you.
I’m just going to go out on a limb here and guess that you don’t have a clue what “most women” would like, because you only get as close as a magazine cover. At least your personality will save you from having to buy condoms.
If you are sexually/romantically attracted to boys/men (and not girls/women), you are gay. If you’re young and not yet sure who you’re attracted to, that’s fine. It can take a while for some people to figure out their sexual orientation. Check out How to Know if You Are Gay.
So we males articulate our desires with the precision of a leaf-blower. That may not help our Match.com profiles, but it does support the legend of male complexity. Sociologist Rebecca Plante of Ithaca College says it’s a massive oversimplification to think that a man’s sexual desire is “as plain as the erection in his pants.” Plante has been leading part of a national, multi-campus, quantitative, and qualitative study of some 14,000 college students, organized by sociologist Paula England at Stanford, on the culture of hooking up. What Plante has found so far defies all simple expectations: While some guys do view sex and desire as one and the same, many others—even those in the early stages of a casual engagement—want someone they know and trust on a deeper level.
If you want a committed relationship you can say, “I really enjoy your company and want to take the relationship to the next level. I only want to be involved with you, so what are your thoughts about being exclusive?”
Let’s face it. There ARE men who are stubborn. There ARE men who focus solely on the sexual aspect of relationships. There ARE men who never plan to get married, who cheat, and who are narcissistic, but if you hold onto these biases that may have developed from your past relationships, then it will make it extremely hard to open your mind to finding a man who will open his heart and give you the world.
I find that I am drawn to women that are creative and artistic; I tend to be a nuts and bolts kind of person, circuit boards and hard drives rule my day.  Having a woman that can make sure I’m getting my appropriate dosages of culture is nice. Sometimes these women are easy to spot; there’s a place I go to called the Gypsy Den and I tell you, these creative female types are all over… Though, they kinda look like they walked out of some sort of hippy people loving commune…
I’ve always found powerful women irresistible. Kissinger was right; power is the greatest aphrodisiac, and nothing is sexier than a woman who owns (not rents or leases with an option to buy) her personal sense of power.

Speaking from 38+ years of marriage … I want a woman who takes care of herself for me. The same as I take care of myself for her. A woman who lets herself go once she has landed her man is saying “I’m in this for me alone”. Of course the reverse is true, a man who does not take care of himself for his woman is just as guilty. Ladies and Gentlemen, successful relationships are not 50% / 50% deals, they are 100% / 100% deals. Be committed to giving your 100% all the time.
Please re-read point 1 in the article and the article cited under it. The problem isn’t with the guy who is close in distance. The problem is that you feel “emotionally and sexually drawn” to your long-distance bf because he is scarce and unattainable. Essentially, your emotions are being “tricked” by the long-distance situation to be more intense than they really are. If the situation was reversed, with your bf being close and your friend living far away, you would “desire” the friend and be less interested in your bf. Feeling strong desire for someone “hard to get” is a big issue.
A book which is founded on ideas about good communication & keeping integrity is one whose advice I feel I can trust & recommend. It has a “win-win” approach that doesn’t degrade men or women – how to get what you desire/need while giving someone else what they desire/need too. Building mutually satisfying relationships is the goal, not manipulating your dream man into marrying you (blech – what an idea!).
Just move on and find someone you can respect and appreciate just the way he is right now. If he wants your help, he’ll ask for it. The right guy for you deserves to feel like he’s your hero. If you can’t offer that, he’s not your guy.
Be yourself. If you like who you are, then stay that way. Don’t change for other people. The girl who is really worth your while will love you for who you are, what you’ve accomplished in your life, and nothing else.

Don’t be the bad guy. Girls, as much as you don’t believe it, like the guy who listens to them more than the tough guy. Yes, they want to feel protected physically, but nothing beats being emotionally protected. This is very important.
Be intelligent, but not a know-it-all. Men like women who have it together and who won’t embarrass them in a conversation; they like women who know something about a lot of different things. It doesn’t have to be politics and sports, it just has to be something you are passionate about and truly understand. And they hate know-it-alls; drop that quality immediately.

And no, “typical” feminists want to promote women strength and capacities. They want EQUALITY. As in, men=women. Does that mean they think very cute/submissive/beautiful/feminine women are weak? No. Since ALL kinds of women AND men are equal no matter what.
► Joie de vivre / Gioia di vivere / Lebensfreude: A happy woman is an amazing sight to see. The character trait of being happy is incredibly attractive. People in general are put off by melancholy and angst. A happy person is an attractive person because people want to be around them. This is true for both men and women.
Men are starved for appreciation. No man is going to come right out and say it, so you’re really going to have to take my word for it. In relationships, women mostly want to feel loved and understood. What men want most is to be appreciated and respected. Rather than focusing on what your man isn’t doing, try to hone in on the good things he is doing (there have to be some).
The single women I know are frequently advised, “Stop being so picky,” “Have a better attitude,” and “Lower your standards,” perhaps to the point where they’ll date anyone with a penis and a pulse. I believe this is precisely the wrong approach. Why? Consider our statistical friend, the bell curve. The great bulge in the middle represents areas where you are, well, average. This is also the part of you that could easily be mixed and matched with the largest number of potential mates. The skinnier upper end represents your greatest gifts, the areas where you are most talented and extraordinary. The few people who share your most exceptional characteristics are your tribe, the population that is most likely to contain your heart’s partner.
First, like I said before – he starts to bond with you. He notices that you’re really listening to him and that you’re engaging with him about things that he cares about – and that draws him closer to you.
The word “heartbreak” is bandied about so much we often forget that, along with depression and loss of appetite, physical heart pain is an actual side effect of high-stress events like the loss of loved ones. The grief from a breakup or death can be so consuming that it’s actually heart wrenching and can have serious consequences for our physical health, too.
The key to a great first date is picking a fun, inexpensive, casual activity that allows you to talk but also keeps you busy. We’ve come up with 50 fun first date ideas for you and 50 gentlemen–or maybe just you and Adam Sandler.
A good relationship is like a dance. It requires two people giving their all and learning the steps to work with each other so they don’t crush a lot of toes. And like a good dance, there are steps you can take in your relationship to help make it flow smoothly, and keep you from stepping all over your partner by accident.
I noticed that when you do hangout with your friends and laugh/joke around you do get a girls attention. For example, when I was at a track meet with my friends 2 girls came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder saying I was cute. Overall, I think girls like when a guy has alot of confidence and is comfortable in his setting.
